Limited Edition Prints

Enjoy Your New Limited Edition Print!

A Limited Edition Print is defined as a high quality reproduction of an original work of art that is personally hand signed and numbered with the total number of the reproductions given. The images in these limited editions are printed on an archival fine art paper that provides rich details and accurate reproductions. They are "Unmatted and Unframed" and just as with all fine art prints, it is recommended they be archivally matted with acid free materials and displayed behind glass in a frame away from direct sunlight and humidity to preserve the life of the print.

A Limited Edition Print permits printmakers and collectors to agree upon what is an original art print and what is a reproduction. A Limited Edition is defined as a high quality reproduction of an original work of art that is numbered individually with the total number of the reproduction given (i.e. 5/300). Limited Editions are printed on high quality stock and are signed and numbered by the artist. Once the edition is sold out (all 300), no more limited edition prints of that image can be produced which is what can make the print valuable on the resale or "secondary market." Guiding Spirit Design reserves the right to reproduce this image in the form of greeting cards, or other forms other than a fine art print. In some cases, this can create an increase in the value of your limited edition print.

Each print is accompanied with a Certificate Of Authenticity which is designed to assure the exclusivity of your art reproductions. Please be sure to keep your Certificate of Authenticity with your print. We recommend that you ask your framer to attach the acetate sleeve (with the certificate) to the backside of your framed print.

Giclées Printing
Museum quality archival fine art prints are now being reproduced by a new process called Giclée (pronounced "Gee-clay") prints. Since Giclée printing made its debut in 1985, many influential artists, photographers, museums and galleries have incorporated it into their creative endeavors. Museums have realized Giclée vast potential and have already made many Giclée additions a permanent part of their collections. Artists and institutions value the giclee print because it is an excellent, high quality method of printing that truly captures the artist's original intent. The strong interpretive power of a Giclée is, in part, due to the quality of the inks, which are optimized for fine art applications.

Print Quality
Guiding Spirit Design's limited edition prints are produced using the latest 8-color printing technology.  All image management is done in-house, and only the finest papers and archival pigment-based inks are used. Our paper is a heavyweight 100% cotton fiber material with a soft texture. It is PH neutral, acid free, lignin-free and water-resistant. Both the paper and inks are archival. Our ultrachrome inks have exceptional color and proven archival stability. The archival permanency rating by the Wilhelm research company (an independent research firm) rates this print to last for 118 years unframed and 178 years if framed.

All Animal Totem Prints will be all be reproduced as a limited edition in the amount of 500 prints of each.
